HY204B Sand texture agent
Brief description
Sand Texture Agent is a special vinylidene fluoride polymer that functions as a physical separator and matting agent to create a sand-like texture in powder coatings. By adjusting the formulation in combination with organic bentonite, it can produce both coarse sand textures and very fine sand textures. It is widely used in coating applications for electrical instrument housings and aluminum alloys.

Melting Point: Approximately 320°C
Volatile Content: ≤0.5%
Product Application
Suitable for various types of powder coatings including polyester, epoxy, and polyester/epoxy hybrid systems.
Add 0.1-0.4% of Sand Texture Agent (based on the total formula weight) together with other raw materials, mix and disperse evenly, and follow the standard powder coating production process. The specific dosage should be determined through experimentation.

Storage Requirements
Store in a cool, dry place, sealed properly. Avoid high temperatures, high humidity, and keep away from fire and heat sources. Ideal storage temperature is 4-38°C, with a shelf life of 12 months. Beyond the storage period, the product can be retested; if the results meet the requirements, it can still be used.

The coarseness or fineness of the sand texture is primarily related to the powder particle size and the addition amount. When producing matte sand textures, it is best not to add leveling agent and to use it in combination with silica. When producing smooth, fine, or semi-matte sand textures, an appropriate amount of leveling agent can be added and used in combination with matting agent; barium sulfate is recommended as the filler.
