HY11A-1 Indoor Physical Matting Agent(wax free)
Brief Description
The wax-free matting agent HY11A-1 belongs to the internally balanced reaction type (commonly known as a physical matting agent) and does not consume the epoxy resin in the matrix. It is suitable for mixed polyester/epoxy systems with ratios of 5:5, 6:4, and 7:3, offers broad compatibility with polyesters, requires low addition amounts, and provides excellent coating appearance quality, anti-yellowing properties, and mechanical performance.
Typical Properties
• Grade: Industrial
• Appearance: Milky white or light yellow powder
• Solid Content: ≥98%

Application
Add 1–3.5% of the total formulation amount of the matting agent and mix uniformly with other raw materials before extrusion. Follow standard powder production processes. The exact dosage can be determined through testing.
Product Features
• Suitable for polyester/epoxy powder coatings with a gloss level of 3 or above (60°).
• Excellent performance, low dosage, low gloss, and outstanding cost-effectiveness.
• Coating surface is very smooth, with excellent anti-yellowing properties and mechanical performance.
• Does not consume epoxy; physical matting mechanism; wide applicability and broad selectivity for polyesters.
Packaging
Polyethylene inner bag, kraft paper outer packaging. Net weight: 25 kg per bag.
Storage Requirement
Store the matting agent in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, sealed.
Avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, high humidity, and keep away from fire and heat sources to prevent caking.
Storage temperature should be below 30°C. Shelf life: 12 months.
If the storage period is exceeded, the product may be retested; if results meet specifications, it can still be used.
Friendly Reminder
•Strengthen the control of powder production process: feed quickly during extrusion, maintain a low extrusion temperature, and ensure stable matting effect.
•Fillers and polyesters from different manufacturers, as well as their addition amounts, affect gloss. The matting agent requires certain compatibility with other formulation components.
•Appropriately adding curing promoters can improve impact strength but may cause increased gloss or poor leveling.
•Increasing the amount of matting agent raises reactivity, shortens curing time, and reduces gloss, which may affect storage stability. Different polyester types vary in reactivity, so customers should adjust according to actual conditions and pay attention to powder storage stability.
•The matting agent may bring unexpected benefits, but due to varying application conditions, differences in polyesters used by manufacturers, variations in production processes, and unavoidable commercial factors, customers should sample and test every 500 kg produced before and during continuous production. It is essential for each powder coating user to conduct online testing.
