    HY216 Low-Temperature Curing Accelerator 

     

    Brief description
    HY216 is an accelerator with relatively excellent comprehensive performance. A very small addition amount can produce significant effects without causing yellowing or affecting leveling. It can be used in both hybrid and pure polyester powder coatings.

    Appearance: Milky white or light yellow powder
    Solid Content: ≥98%

     

    Product Application
    Add 0.1-0.5% of HY216 (based on the total formula weight) together with other raw materials, mix uniformly, and co-extrude. Follow the standard powder coating production process. The specific dosage should be determined through experimentation.

     

    Product Features
    ——Can be used in every type of powder coating to lower the curing temperature and shorten the curing time, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of our powders. For example, if other manufacturers' powders cure at 180°C for 15 minutes, our powder can cure at 160°C for 10 minutes, providing a significant competitive advantage. The recommended addition amount is 0.2%.
    ——If a coating shop needs to increase production output by speeding up the spray line, we can add HY216 accelerator. This allows the coating shop to achieve this without increasing the oven temperature, and the mechanical properties of the baked coating remain unaffected.
    ——Adding HY216 accelerator to transfer printing powder can accelerate curing and ensure complete curing, which is beneficial for paper tearing.
    ——Adding HY216 accelerator to wrinkle powder results in better texture and stronger concave-convex effects.
    ——For low-temperature curing, adding a small amount of HY216 accelerator to hybrid powders, without altering the original formula, can achieve low-temperature curing at 150°C or even 140°C.

    Storage Requirements
    Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, sealed properly.
    Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, and high humidity, and keep away from fire and heat sources to prevent caking. Storage temperature should be below 30°C, with a shelf life of 12 months. Beyond the storage period, the product can be retested; if the results meet the requirements, it can still be used.

    Polyester manufacturers often add accelerators during the polyester production process to promote the curing reaction between polyester and epoxy or polyester and TGIC. HY216, however, is an accelerator added during powder coating production. If the polyester manufacturer has already added sufficient accelerator, adding more accelerator during powder production may be ineffective or could even cause conflicts. Therefore, experiments must be conducted to determine whether an accelerator is needed and the appropriate dosage. Based on our test results, most polyesters show a significant promoting effect when HY216 is added, while a few polyesters do not perform as well.
