HY20F Outdoor Matting Agent
Brief Description
HY20F matting agent is specially designed for outdoor polyester/TGIC powder coating systems. It is suitable for polyester/TGIC powder coatings with gloss ≥8° (60°). It provides excellent coating appearance, anti-yellowing properties and impact resistance. The matting agent consumes TGIC at a ratio of 20:1. With low dosage and outstanding cost-effectiveness, it significantly reduces costs.Typical Properties (Industrial Grade)
Appearance:Milky white or light yellow powder
Solid Content ≥98%
Application
Add 1-5% of the matting agent based on total formulation weight (Matting Agent : TGIC = 20:1), mix evenly with other raw materials, and extrude together. Follow the standard powder coating production process. The specific dosage should be determined through experiments.

Product Features
- Suitable for polyester/TGIC powder coatings with gloss ≥8° (60°)
- Excellent performance, low dosage, outstanding cost-effectiveness
- Very fine coating surface with excellent anti-yellowing and mechanical properties
Packaging
Polyethylene inner bag with kraft paper outer packaging. Net weight: 25 kg/bag
Storage Requirements
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place in sealed containers. Avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, high humidity, and keep away from fire and heat sources to prevent caking. Storage temperature should be below 30℃. Shelf life: 12 months. If stored beyond the expiration date, the product can be retested; if the results meet the requirements, it can still be used.
Notes
- Strengthen production process control. Extrusion feeding should be fast with low extrusion temperature to ensure stable matting effect.
- Compatibility matters. Fillers, polyesters and their addition amounts from different manufacturers affect gloss. The matting agent requires certain compatibility with other formulation components.
- Curing accelerators. Appropriate addition of curing accelerators can improve impact strength, but may cause higher gloss or deviation in leveling properties.
- Dosage and reactivity. As the dosage of matting agent increases, reactivity increases accordingly, gel time becomes shorter, and gloss decreases. This also has a certain impact on storage stability. Different types of polyester have different reactivity. Customers should make adjustments according to actual conditions and pay attention to powder storage stability. Conduct tests before use before mass production.
- Testing is essential. The matting agent may bring you unexpected pleasant results. However, given that powder coating application conditions vary, different manufacturers use different polyesters, production processes also differ, and due to some unavoidable commercial factors, customers must take samples for testing every 500 kg of production before production and during continuous production. It is very necessary for each powder coating user to conduct in-line trials. Huanyu assumes no responsibility for improper use of this information and does not exclude the possibility of other better application effects.
